I can recognize what makes a piece of writing effective.
I can write an imaginative story that meets state standards.

- Why is this story good?
- Writing time. Music is okay so long as you are the only one who can hear it. Set your ipod on shuffle and let it roll; don't touch your ipod during writing time.
